Access to Health Care - Part III
March 6th, 2007
This blog has made a number of post about China’s broken health care system. See, e.g. – A Prescription for Change, and Not All is Well in China - Access to Health Care.
Last week the Wall Street Journal [subscription may be required] published a front page article that shows things may be improving and there is hope (“In China, Farmers Become Health-Care Monitors: Test Program Targets Nation’s Broken System, Fining the Local Doctor”).
Relatedly, see also this WSJ article, “Insurers Target the Developing World,” re: the burgeoning insurance market in both China and India. I never fully appreciated all of the information insurance companies need and use to sell policies and manage risk. I am also impressed by their entry strategy into these markets (others may not be and/or view what they are doing as unethical – if so, that’s fair game and discuss as a comment!).
More global business developments and opportunities for you to be aware of and thinking about.
Fascinating stuff.
