I found this good US State Department website (Tips for Travelers To China) about traveling to China if anyone is interested.

Interesting info. I was wondering about the medical insurance. Has anyone ever traveled outside the U.S. and purchased the extra medical insurance and/or evacuation insurance? I recently saw a news piece on TV about some student who went abroad and broke her leg during an excursion. She had purchased the extra insurances and of course, found it to be invaluable for her care and recovery as she was transported to facilities that could give her adequate care. I was only half paying attention to the piece, so I can’t remember what country she was in, but it wasn’t China. If the U.S. is warning us to REQUEST sterilized equipment and perhaps even PAY for new syringes if one happens to end up in a hospital or clinic, the idea of travel insurance sounds pretty good. Makes you kind of wonder if people from other countries have all these rules to deal with. And I guess I better not bring my Elle Magazine to read on the plane. The ads might not seem so provocative to us, but could it really be considered porn in China? Thanks Tori for the informative article. We often take a lot for granted here and our acceptability level can be way off base compared to some of the Third World countries.
