    [Dr. Bardhan --] “Despite recent turmoil, continuing purchases by foreigners indicate that there’s no loss in the appetite for US securities.”

    Wouldn’t other countries learn from China’s ties with the US through the vast amount of US securities they bought (which now entraps them, since they are basically illiquid)? Wouldn’t a safer bet be investment in Chinese or Indian securities?
